Get Healthy by Drinking ENOUGH Water

Every minute our body discharges about 1.7ml or 2.5 liter of liquid a day through many forms like sweat, breath, and urine. Therefore it is essential that we drink enough every day to keep the balance. If a glass of water has about 250-300cc, we need to drink around 8 glasses of water everyday.

Some of us may have difficulty to walk the discipline of drinking enough water. Remember that lack of water may lead to kidney disfunction.

However this does not mean advocating everybody to drink as much as you can. Too much water may also burdensome to kidney which eventually leads to kidney failure in long run.

Passive Smoker and Vitamin C

Living surrounded by smokers is tough to our health, passive smokers are getting equal or even more health deterioration compared to the smokers themselves. If you happen to live with this situation try to consume more vitamin C as it helps your immune system to reduce the impact of cigarette smoke. Normally our body need 60-75mg of vitamin C per day, the amount differs among people, pregnant women and passive smokers need more than a normal person.

Basically the normal vitamin C requirement can be fulfilled with normal daily consumption of vegetables and fruits without needing to take supplement. If you think you rarely eat vegetables or fruits, then you may need to take vitamin C supplement.

Stroke Symptoms are NOT always Visible

I took this story from a public knowledge bank, it is a sad one, but we can learn from it, don't let this happen to us or our beloved ones.

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. (They offered to call ambulance). They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital and at 6:00 pm, Ingrid passed away.

She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke, totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE:

Remember the 3 steps, "S, T, and R".

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S (SMILE) - Ask the individual to SMILE.

T (TALK) - Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (e.g. "It is sunny out today").

R (RAISE BOTH ARMS) - Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call medical helpline immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Note: Another signs of a stroke are

Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.

A prominent cardiologist says if everyone who reads this blog sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved and it could be your own.

First Aid to Stroke

Believe it or not, one of the effective first aid to stroke is let some blood to exit the body from the patient’s fingertips and earlobes. This method is capable of saving the patient’s life with no side effect at all.

As we all know, when someone is getting a stroke, all blood in the patient’s body will flow very rapidly to vessels in the brain, the blood vessels will not be able to withstand the blood pressure for long and will start breaking, then there comes the big trouble. Therefore the idea is to ease the blood flow and avoid the vessels to break.

Don’t panic and stay calm facing this situation. If the patient is fallen down unconscious, remember not to attempt moving him/her from the location since any move will make the blood vessel to break faster. Keep the patient where he/she is, just help them to take a sitting position, after this we can start the blood letting procedure.

The best way to do it is using a hypodermic needle, but if we don’t have it, we can also use sewing needle or pin (you need to sterilize them by burning it few seconds on a flame). Pierce the needle on all of the person’s fingertips about 1cm from the nails. 1 pierce in each fingertip is enough, the goal is to get 1 drop of blood from each fingertip. You can help the blood to come out by give a little pressure on the finger. After this procedure, within 10 minutes the patient is expected to gain consciousness.

If the patient’s mouth appears abnormal or turning to one side then you need to do a repetitive pull on both of the patient’s earlobes until they turn reddish. After that do another pierce on each of those earlobes at the bottom tips so that 2 drops of blood come out from each earlobe. Within few minutes we can expect the patient’s mouth to turn back to its normal state.

After the patient gain back full consciousness and passes the first critical minutes of the stroke, quickly rush him/her to the doctor for further treatment.

This is a piece of good emergency situation handling tips for those who are living with or taking care of elderly people. Go pass this message to your family and friends.

Turning off lights at night surprisingly has something to do with body processes during our sleep. Interesting isn’t it ? Here is the fact..

Melatonin, one of the hormone in body immune system that fights against diseases including breast and prostate cancer only effectively produced by our body in the dark surrounding. Sleeping at night with the lights on, no matter how dim it is may put melatonin production to a halt.

Biologist Joan Roberts found this after experimenting on animals where their melatonin production as well as the immune system dropped after exposed to light during sleep time at night.

Lastly, don’t only pay attention to your bedroom lightings, TV is also a source of light that may prevent the hormone to unleash.

So, turning off lights during your sleep is a natural and easy way to keep you in good shape.

Fighting Stroke with Tomato Seeds

You might not realize that you often remove seeds from tomato just because you don’t like them or you find them disgusting especially its sticky liquid that comes with the seeds. Now, try to think twice before removing the tomato seeds after reading this.

Modern community’s lifestyle has turned slumber into a rare commodity. The research shows that sleeping less or shorter duration of sleep may cause abnormally high blood pressure and breathing problem during our sleep at night, further on these will lead to higher risk of cardiovascular diseases like stroke and even sudden heart stoppage.

Therefore, no matter how busy we are, try to sleep long enough.

Coke or Water ?

COKE

greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola
will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches
calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of
osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coke syrup! (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use
a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the
trucks for about 20 years!

Enoki Mushroom Helps Curing Cancer

Golden-needle-mushroom (Jin-Gen-Goo) successfully kills 95% of cancer cells ( Taiwan Report)(Hokkien KIM CHIAM KOR)

Research done by Singapore U shows that eating this mushroom can destroy 95% of cancer cells in our body by boosting our immune system.

Professor Phan Hwai Chong of Yang Ming Research Centre in Taiwan told reporter that consuming this kind of mushroom, one of the ingredients in the mushroom can trigger the multiplication of our healthy 'defensive' cells. By out-numbering the cancers cells, healthy cells help eradicate cancer cells.

American scientists have since run tests on this particular type of mushroom extract with blood, done outside human body. Results show that mushroom extract is able to destroy c ancer cells.
According to Taiwan professor, since healthy 'fighting' cells can be multiplied to tens & thousands of times, it can either be used as drip or just by eating mushroom.

The mushroom is most frequently taken with steam boat. Cooking time should be less than 3 minutes, or the healing property would greatly diminish.

Before using enoki mushrooms, rinse them thoroughly and trim off the roots at the base of the cluster. Enoki mushrooms can be eaten raw or cooked.. Add them to salads, sandwiches, soups, pasta sauces, and stir-fried rice and vegetable dishes. To retain the delicate flavor of the mushrooms, add them at the end of the cooking process.

When purchasing fresh enoki mushrooms, select mushrooms with firm, white, shiny caps. Avoid purchasing enoki mushrooms with slimy or brownish stalks. Enoki mushrooms keep up to 14 days in the refrigerator if stored in a paper bag.

What is best to drink during your meal ?


The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine .
