Passive Smoker and Vitamin C

Living surrounded by smokers is tough to our health, passive smokers are getting equal or even more health deterioration compared to the smokers themselves. If you happen to live with this situation try to consume more vitamin C as it helps your immune system to reduce the impact of cigarette smoke. Normally our body need 60-75mg of vitamin C per day, the amount differs among people, pregnant women and passive smokers need more than a normal person.

Basically the normal vitamin C requirement can be fulfilled with normal daily consumption of vegetables and fruits without needing to take supplement. If you think you rarely eat vegetables or fruits, then you may need to take vitamin C supplement.

Many supplements available in the market contains 1000mg vitamin C in each of it dosage which is a bit too much for our body. You need to be careful about this, overdose may cause your kidney to work extra hard to digest the overdosed vitamin. Prolonged extra kidney workload may cause kidney disease.
