Get More energy and Fight Tension with Qigong breathing

“ Qigong (or ch'i kung) refers to a wide variety of traditional cultivation practices that involve methods of accumulating, circulating, and working with qi or energy within the body.

The qi in qigong means air in Chinese, and, by extension, life force, dynamic energy or even cosmic breath. Gong means work applied to a discipline or the resultant level of skill, so qigong is thus breath work or energy work. “

Qigong can help practitioners to learn diaphragmatic breathing, an important component of the relaxation response, which is important in combating stress.

You can easily practice Qigong breathing by breathing in air into the stomach (abdomen) through the nose until it expands out like a balloon. Then hold the breath in for a moment, and then breathe out the air slowly through the nose and not through the mouth. Repeat this breathing exercise for 10 times or practice it for about 5 minutes. Relax your face and mind, concentrate on your breathing. This way it helps to increase your energy and reduce tension.
